Kuniyoshi Tanto with NBTHK Hozon certificate

Well forged blade with very nice horimono of Dragon and Plum Tree, on the opposite it has a bonji character. Mountedi n Shirasaya.

The swordmith Kuniyoshi was born on 1st March Meiji year 37 (1904), his real name was Kichitaro Suzuki. He worked in Honjo city in Akita prefecture.
He studied swordmaking under  Ka Shibata . He also made  many Gunto swords for the war effort from Showa 13 through 20 (1938 - 1945)
In Showa 17 (1942), he learned Master course in Nihonto Gakuin school.
He  competed  in several swordmaking competitions where won the silver prize twice and gold prize three times.
