Naoe Shizu Kanenobu Katana
Mumei Katana attributed to Naoe Kanenobu by the NTHK NPO circa mid 1300s. Kanenobu was a student of Naoe Shizu kaneuji who was a student of the 10 great students of Masamune. This is a very well made katana typical of the Naoe school. Blade has a very nice shirake utsuri, narrow hamon and boshi, very nice sori. Some areas of coarser hada, mounted in an interesting leather koshirae from the Edo period, also in Japanese shirasaya.
