Katana made by Tadayuki The 1st Generation he worked circa Kanbun 1661 - 1684 he was a student of the great Awataguchi Tadatsuna his works are in Suguha hamon as well as gunome choji he often made swords with Tadatsuna and was considered the best swordmakers of the Tadatsuna school. His suguha works are often compared to Hizen Omi Daijo Tadahiro this katana is a very good example with extremely well forged hada and superb well controlled active suguha hamon also this katana bears a kinzogan mei / gold cutting test inscription which attests to the supreme sharpness and cutting ability of this blade for which Tadayuki is reknowned.The katana comes with a great koshirae nicely lacquered saya very nice iron tsuba with shingen motif , tsuka ito of white silk recently rewrapped as per the original tsukaito high quality fuchi kashira and menuki.
