Koto Nio Kiyosada Wakizashi with NTHK NPO Certificate made 1558-1570
Well made Mumei Shinogi zukuri Wakizashi Den Nio Kiyosada Attributed to Nio Kiyosada from Awa Province. Forged in a dense Itame hada. Hamon is chu suguha. Iori – mune, chu kissaki, narrow sugu boshi. Nakago is ubu with 1 mekugiana and has been cleaned by previous owner.

Koshirae is a high quality Handachi with black Ishime Urushi lacquered saya. All the fiitings are shakudo with well carved Katakiri bori of tendrils. The tsuba is shakudo with Kirimon in gold and silver with Katakiri bori matching the other handachi fittings. 2 seppa are gold and 2 are silver foiled. Kozuka has motif of bird in flight and Matsu/pine tree made of Shinchu/Brass . The bird is Shibuichi with gold eyes and legs signed Kogatana blade. Overall this is an an excellent Handachi koshirae in very good original condition.
