YASUSHIGE (康重), 1
st gen., Eiroku (永禄, 1558-1570), Musashi – “Bushū-jū Yasushige” (武州住康重), “Bushū-jū
Yasushige saku” (武州住康重作), “Bushū-jū Chikashige” (武州住周重), oldest son of the 1st gen. Shitahara Chikashige
(下原周重), real name Yamamoto Tōzaemon (山本藤左衛門), he changed his first name later to Takumi (内匠), Hōjō
Ujiyasu (北条氏康, 1515-1571) granted him the character for “yasu” (康) whereupon he changed his initial name
Chikashige to Yasushige, itame-hada with the typical whirlpools of the Shitahara-hada, suguha, notare-midare, or gunome-midare
in nioi-deki, in addition ko-ashi and mura-nie, the tang tends to a tanagobara-gata and has a ha-agari kurijiri, the yasurime are kiri
